Madison Macias Obituary, Death – 21-Year-Old Woman Killed in Devastating Three-Vehicle Crash in Southeast Kansas

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash happened at approximately 4:30 p.m. on U.S. 69 Alternate, about two miles north of K-66 Highway near Riverton.

Investigators said a vehicle traveling northbound slowed down as its driver prepared to turn into a driveway. A second northbound vehicle then moved left across the center line.

The second vehicle struck the first vehicle before continuing into the path of Macias’ southbound vehicle, resulting in a head-on collision.

Macias sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased as a result of the collision.

Another Driver Suffered Serious Injuries

The driver of the second vehicle involved in the crash sustained suspected serious injuries, according to authorities.

Despite the severity of the collision, the Kansas Highway Patrol reported that all three drivers involved were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
